I am currently working on Tulips - my latest mixed media piece.
Finally saw Rivers and Tides - a video about Andy Goldsworthy. His work is based in nature and highly ephemeral, thereby something I can totally relate to. Love that Storm King stone wall and all those curves. Check him out if you get a chance. A quote from the video that I related to was this: "Total control can be the death of a work". I like how one thing leads to the next. It's strange, but this piece that I am working on has been speaking to me in a way. It tells me what it needs to be complete. I know I've heard artists say this sort of stuff before, but when I'm following my instincts and letting serendipity in on the creation process, it just works better. I find that preconceived notions about what the finished piece ought to be get in the way.
